People bury and hide little containers with crap and trinkets in them, kind of like mini time capsules. If you go to the website, you can search for GPS coordinates in your area to find capsules, Then you go out, find them. Inside these capsules along with the cool trinkets is a log book where people before you write about their history on how they found the capsule.
The fun in it is "hunting" for the capsules, which are usually hidden very well. Once you find it, you get a "story" of the history and journeys before you. What adds to the fun, is the give and take aspect. You can take something from the capsule, but you have to add something in return.
It might sound nerdy or childish, but trust me, this is loads of fun.
I want to organize an event in a few weeks, when the weather is cooler. It's more fun in the fall, and easier to find them since grasses and leaves are not as camouflaging. Then we can hit up a pub or resto and talk about the adventure.
