Starry Night Hollow

This is an extra cute boutique fabric store located on the corner of Saxony and Leucadia Blvd. It looks like a house with a tall white fence in the driveway. They are open at 10am-6pm Mon-Fri and 10am-5pm on Sat.

I came here to drop off a sewing machine to get a tune-up today. Thursdays are the sewing machine repair days. It costs under $100 and the guy that fixes them is very thorough and honest!

Since I had a few extra minutes, I walked through the house and browsed the enormous selection of beautiful cotton printed fabrics. The store looks brand new and is very well kept. Fabric is sold by the yard. My favorite thing they sell is large buttons (1 to 2-inch diameter)! They have them in tons of colors! They also sell a variety of patterns for quilts, aprons, and small projects. There are finished products (from the patterns) hanging around the walls of the store, so you can see what it should look like.

This place also offers sewing/quilting classes, but I didn't see a schedule.

The woman who was working inside the store was very friendly and helping 3 of us at a time!

There is parking for about 10 cars in the lot below and above the house.

I feel like this is one of those underground secret places where you need to know the password and secret handshake to get the location.

I actually lived on Saxony for years and when someone mentioned I should check out the fabric store on the corner of Saxony and Leucadia Blvd., I thought they were crazy. It's a residential neighborhood and there aren't really any shops on that part of the street. But I was floored when I turned past the tall white fence into the driveway and found Starry Night Hollow awaiting me. Who knew!

This place is truly a hidden gem. It's a residential house (which is why they can't put up big signs...city ordinance and all that) but there is plenty of parking and it's a beautiful home transformed into such a gorgeous shop. There are classrooms, a beautiful garden, a great big kitchen, and room upon room full of fabric. Quilter's paradise!

I've only been sewing for a year or so and was about to embark on my first quilt when I happened upon Starry Night Hollow. The girl working there was so helpful in assisting me and telling me about the store. And it's just plain fun to explore the various rooms. Whoever styled the setup has a true artistic eye. The rooms are displayed beautifully. Definitely check out the gorgeous quilt art lining all the walls, too! And find the "sale" room in the back. There's some good deals back there.

Good quality fabric and so many choices. I'll definitely be back to support this business!

I came here on this years cruisin quilters quit store run. I was already looking forward to coming here just by the name! Its a cute cottage surrounded by a garden and lots of trees.

They have some stunning fabrics. I was pretty much burntout from fabric shopping all day until I walked in. Just in the front room I found so many gorgeous unusual fabrics. I found a fabric that was perfect for a Kaleidoscope quilt I am making. One of the ladies that was working there took me around the store giving me advice on what fabrics to use and what methods to use in making my quilt.

I am most definately coming back here soon and you should too!

This is my favorite place to quilt, they have a wonderful classroom with windows facing a garden full of beautiful flowers. The walls are covered in the most extraordinary art quilts and it inspires one to try new designs.

The owner has a great eye for fabric and the quality is evident. This a very special place.

This hidden gem of a shop serves not only as a one-stop shop for fabric and notions, but also as an inspiration outpost. Owner Kim is an unbelievable artist, and her homemade quilts, purses, heck, even her pincushions make me want to go home and sew sew sew (now if someone could get these kids to leave me alone for a minute!) Great classes are offered; I take a class from Barb and she is extremely patient and is hilarious. It is so fun to go hang out and sew and shop there. They have a huge selection of gorgeous fabrics - TONS of Kaffe, also Michael Miller, Amy Butler, some batik and primitive. It is a very friendly place, filled to the brim with all good things. The only bad part is, I spend too much money there!

Go check it out, it is one driveway south of Leucadia Blvd., on the east side of Saxony.

If you have not found the secret shop behind the white gates- you must go. A converted house full of fabric heaven. The owner, Kim Rado-Kornbluth is an artist that is internationally acclaimed. Her quilts will set your mind ablaze with the possibilities of fiber art. Her staff is small but knowledgeable.The selection of fabric and trims are up to the minute. Currently she is hosting a color seminar with Kaffe Fassett and that is a world class opportunity. A tour of the shop is like a visit to an art museum combined with a trip to a home wear you want to sit awhile and have a drink with your craft! Drive through the big white gates and see what awaits...

This shop is a very unique quilt shop...and I've been to many! The pull of this shop is art...not sales. On my very first visit I met the shop owner, and she is really great! She's all about creativity and trying something new. I was impressed with her and her shop, and have since been back for classes. Love this place!

I just read Sarah G's review of the quilt shop Starry Night Hollow and must confess that her remarks are far from the truth. The employees at the store were merely trying to keep her children from getting hurt. First, Sarah G did not tell the whole story as I observed the events. As I recall, Sarah G opened a locked kitchen door and allowed her small child ( about 3 years old) go in the back yard alone. The store attendant very politely requested that, for safety's sake, her children should not be left unattended. Sarah G was clearly offended because she could not leave her children outside while she had free time to roam the store. Also, cookies were being baked in the kitchen and the store owner had to prevent the little girl from touching the hot oven while she was removing the cookies.
Now lets get real here people! When you take your kids anywhere it is your responsibility to watch them; a store is not your personal day care center! If a child gets injured the store suffers the liability of parental negligence. Many times I have been in a store with people who have children. If they are attended at all times by their parents and are well behaved, there is no problem. As a courtesy to other shoppers, and you want worry free shopping time, leave the kids at home. I found the people at this store to be very friendly and helpful and courteous. I recommend that you check this place out, it is beautiful and fun and creative: something we all need in our lives.

I am not a fan of this quilt shop. I found them to be disorganized and not helpful for a recent Kaffe Fassett workshop. Material did not arrive ahead of time for the workshop, instructions for having pieces precut were not given which Fassett was expecting, and the follow up sessions for assembling the quilt project were never scheduled. I was informed that if I was having trouble with something I could pay $15 an hour for Barbara to help me, yet they asked for people to sign up for help sessions in the near future. It has been two months and I was never notified about anything.
