Absolute best subway experience I have ever had very very kind workers, we had to get back home and the subway workers assured us that we'd make it they informed us about the subway glitching and made sure we got to where we were going.
We couldn't get on the train but they still opened the doors for us.
The seats are very comfortable and it's a very clean area the smell is extravagant and nice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 028 dec 2023Vorige reviewAbsolute best subway experience I have ever had very very kind workers, we had to get back home and the subway workers assured us that we'd make it they informed us about the subway glitching and made sure we got to where we were going.

57th Street has an okay MTA station. It seems old but it's functional. Lots find this convenient and I do too. A few important attractions are here. There's the Museum of Modern Art, and it's also blocks from Central Park.
Even though it looks pretty old, it's still fine. It serves the F Train. This gets packed at rush hour as the trains get crowded with workers. It's also a popular tourist area. There's many museums and and theaters. Carnegie Hall is a block over, and Radio City Music Hall isn't that far either. There's all kinds of art to see. Check out the many museums around here. MOMA is just a few blocks away from this.
It looks better. Recently it has been renovated. There's some new technology such as the arrival times.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - 500038897255929 jun 2018
Can you believe I got on at this location today June 29, 2018 and got off at 96 Street? Yes you can, BUT when I exited someone nudged me. It was my daughter! Today their job started Summer Friday's. They leave work early. She was on the same train. So you never know who you will run into on the train.
I find this to be an ok Station. It's convenient to a lot of my favorite places on Broadway and near Central Park. Easy for me to visit Hell's Kitchen and catch the train home also.
I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I just thought it was very strange the two of us ended up on the same train. She's going back though. After all her recent fun and excitement in June, her co-worker got two tickets to U2 tonight and the coworkers husband couldn't go. Yup! My daughter will be heading back down on the train.
All subway lines appear to connect somewhere along the way. One station is about the same as the next. The Time of day you're traveling can make a difference also. I'm not sure this station is so nice at night. I can't tell you for sure.
For now I'm gonna use it to get home if it's going up to 90 Degrees. I want to get home fast!! PS The WiFi works great too!Helpful 66Thanks 0Love this 67Oh no 0 - 30 dec 2018
Makeover revealed!
A couple weeks ago the shiny new insides of this station was opened to the public after about 4 months of renovation (ok maybe not that shiny...but trust me better than before...).
No major changes to the layout, but the terra-cotta rust colored pillars have now been painted a dark grey-black and the old cement platforms covered with a fresh layer of cement. New digital touch screens with subway arrival times and notices have replaced the old posting boards for paper flyers. The stairs are updated to be metal staircases instead of the old concrete versions with crumbling steps. Even the subway lights/light bulbs look more updated or at least slightly brighter than what I last recall, or maybe because the grime hasn't built up on the surface of the bulbs yet.
And of course no guarantee on how long this platform will stay cleanish looking, so if you want to admire its fleeting, current state--long enough to give you some desperate hope that things might not be doomed to the depths of despair that is the MTA--I'd take a good look out your F train car window sometime in the next couple weeks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8 jun 2016
F Train all aboard. Get ready during rush hour it's very cramped on this train heading from Queens to Manhattan/Brooklyn and vice versa. Make sure you are in the car with the AC on with all the body heat on a packed train. The F train is a very busy subway line. They stop at many of the tourist hot spots in Manhattan and then off to neat spots in Brooklyn.
MTA has got their act together. Both the E and F trains run efficiently during rush hour from Monday's through Friday's. These trains keep rolling in the station and sometimes can get backed up. Never run after trains like in the past there will be another one coming onto the platform in a couple of minutes. Just watch out for the mob of people waiting on the platform.
What can I say about New Yorker's? Ton of people and everyone gets along no matter how cramped or packed the train is. Great to see polite people giving up their seats to an elderly and helping mother's up the stairs with their baby stroller.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - L J.New York, Verenigde Staten65772269 jan 2020
An okay subway station. Enough trains run here. Not my favorite. Your experience may differ...

It only takes less than a year for a NYC subway stop to become a cesspool. It's a day to play Lotto when you don't smell anything here. There are usually homeless sleeping at this station, because of the wide unused space in the level before you descend a flight below to catch the train. On occasion I have seen them try to hustle tourists. Once, I was chased by one. Most of time, they figure me for a homey and bother the tourists, if they do at all. Once, I tried to help this clean clad guy who seem passed out, his wallet and phone strewn before him. I think he was an undercover cop because as soon as I tried waking him by yelling and yelling if he needed the police, the dude opened his eyes, asked me the time, jumped up, shoving phone and wallet into his pockets and ran off! The human turd was spotted here last year, the ripe stench permeating the station for days because MTA cleaning staff apparently don't do weekends. My recent sighting was a rather large rat who went about the platform eating garbage , oblivious to the freaked out people waiting for the train. A group of Italian tourists realized the novelty and starting recording like many of us. Hey, they have the Coliseum and we have Ben's descendant, who might even have whupped my idol Bruce Lee's butt, or at least taken a chunk out, had he been there for the big fight. Don't ever pass out drunk here, unless you want to wake up to a rodent carrying off a piece of your nose. This station gets many stars for its convenient location and many stars subtracted for its colorful locals. The big question is why MTA neglects this station, which is in a major tourist area.

Got the train as soon as I entered the station. There was a moderate homeless aroma that dissipated after a few stops. No delays getting to Roosevelt /74th St.
My trip was a weekday night at around 8:30. Your mileage may vary.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
