Monkey's South

We reserved
the table in advance but upon arrival they tried to assign us a table just next
to the main entrance or a stand table. Of course we were disappointed since we
booked in advance: for this reason they assigned us another table which was just
next a group of 20 people (which means really noisy). We had an Antipasto
Misto for two people: it was just ok. You can the same dish but cheaper and
more tasteful in small Italian restaurant. The only really good tasting part
were the scalopps. As main
dish I had a tuna fish steak and my wife roast beef. In both the case it was
cooked as required with the roastbeef more tasteful in comparison to the tuna
fish. The side dish of the roastbeef (chips) was really salty. The side dish of
the tuna fish was ok.

The wines
are a little bit overpriced. Furthermore we ordered a bottle of Ripasso di
Valpolicella but the one indicated in the menu was not more available and they
brought another bottle asking our permission only once they were at the table. The service
must be improved. A personal touch is missing. Furthermore you are not asked if
you wish to have something to drink more: for example once we finished our
first bottle of water, the bottle was taken off and nobody asked us if we would
like to have a second bottle. Also the
music seems to be not fitting with the concept: the restaurant offers mainly Italian
food but in my opinion the lounge music played does not really create the right
atmosphere in this case. Just for information: for two glasses of prosecco, a starter for two people, two main dishes, two bottle of water and one bottle of wine we paid more than 125 euros.
