Came here on recommendation from my boss specifically for the steak tartare, and could not have been more thrilled. The area is a tiny bit touristy, with a few different restaurants around the square, but this spot had a lot of French people, so I knew it was gonna be fantastic. At the moment we sat down. I always enjoyed steak tartare, but I have never loved as much as I did when I had it here. I will be dreaming about this dish for a while until I can go back. Service was quick and they were patient with my bad French :)

It's all about the ambiance sitting under a portico in the Place des Vosges. Over priced drinks as one would expect given the location. History, Architecture, beauty and wine, that's what this is all about and I took it all in.

We had just finished a pastry tour and were in Le Marais. We carefully controlled our consumption during the tour. While I do not particularly like sweets, I love Berthillion ice cream. The Berthillion tea house of the Ile de St. Louis was closed (in August) so we had been on the lookout for other sources of Berthillion.
Ma Bourgogne has Berthillion. We also got lunch (salade parisienne for my wife; beef tartare for me). Both savory courses were delicious.
Ma Bourgogne has a limited selection of Berthillion. I wanted abricot but ended up with chocolat noir and vanille. I have had chocolat noir many times but the vanille was delicious.
Service was excellent. Food was really good. They serve Berthillion when the main store is closed (without having to go to Ile de St. Louis). Winner!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle P.San Diego, Verenigde Staten2212622 okt 2022
I was recommended by my hotel. I gave it a try since I wanted some good French food. When I arrived it was pretty packed but I was able to get seated right away since it was just me. But I didn't like that they put all the Asian people in the same area. My sever was eh. I wasn't knocking his behavior just thought maybe that's how French people were, rude. He kept walking away when I was still talking. Trying to take the menu every time I put it down and I wasn't even ready. Mind you I can't read or speak French. So can someone like me take their time to understand the menu? I ordered escargot to start that was good. Then the server recommended me a steak dish which I got. I ordered medium rare cus that's how you're supposed to eat it. I kid you not my steak was rare! Literally they just seared it and brought it out. I told him politely that it was rare not medium rare then he suggested me to get medium. And I said no I want medium rare. I don't know if it's different in France and America but I thought steak temps are universal. Then he brings me out another steak it was f* well!!! I was like wtf I'm not going to eat that. So I told him that it was well and I want my check and I'm not paying for it. He still charges me for it. I was like nope being someone out so I can talk to because no way in hell I will pay for a steak that wasn't what I ordered or even ate! Also, they didn't know I'm actually a real chef in America that half my menu is steak! I know my meat temperatures I wasn't just being a pest! Then my server brings this old white hair server to pretty much kick me out because I didn't want to pay. Which I was going to pay for what I had but not for the steak. Maybe it was the culture that's fine I was not making any scene but asked for it to be taken off my bill. But nope he pulled my table away and was like if you don't want to pay then leave. I told them I'll pay what I enjoyed. He screamed "leave" I just just said ok bye. I'm never coming back to this place. I will never recommend this place to anyone. Like I said it maybe be a culture thing not send food back or pay for what u didn't eat but no I'm American and if I didn't touch it and or you didn't make it how I ordered I'm not paying. The serve caused a scene i didn't care. I don't get embarrassed I just get even. Better yet be American. Write a yelp review and other views on other platforms to let ppl know this place is horrible especially the serve. I hope you lose lots of customers!

Very classic lovely French brasserie experience..
Location is very pretty and quiet . Rump steak was delicious - if you are meat lover you will be very happy with it, All meat portions looked good. We also had a nice bottle of red Pomerol . I recommend this please to anyone who is looking for classic , casual but elegant typical and simple but stylish French ride. They have few Prix Fixed options but we ordered a la card.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scot B.Kingsburg, Verenigde Staten1624716 jun 2019
Another one of our favorite restaurants to visit in Paris. The pepper rumpsteak was fantastic in a gravy sauce with potatoes. The meat was tender and well prepared. If you're feeling adventurous, try the escargot. It's loaded with butter, garlic, and some pesto?... For dessert had the creme brulee and it was the best creme brulee, I have had.

Went here in the spring of 2015 for lunch and was hesitant at first. The waiters were a bit rude and I personally felt like we were given less attention because they thought we were American... Anyway, when we got our food I forgot all about this. We had a steak tartare, which was really quite good, and foie gras, which was absolutely wonderful. Very fatty as expected, but tasty.
We sat outside onlooking the park across the street. The restaurant's placement and view is beautiful, and we quite enjoyed our lunch here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Barbara A.Chapel Hill, Verenigde Staten1331 mei 2019
We always eat here when we visit Paris and are never disappointed. Good selection of Burgundy specialties and a great selection of wines by the glass. Service is friendly and professional. Tonight we had roast chicken with fries and a green salad (we were in the mood for simple cooking after 2 weeks of eating out daily in Italy. Glacé for dessert was the perfect ending.

"Ma Bourgogne" in Paris, Marais area is facing the lovely square called the "Place des Vosges". Outside seating is recommended. Friendly staff and good food. My husband and I ordered salad frisee' with potrine sale' & blue cheese. I have "steak bavette au eschallotes" and my husband ordered "steak frites" we paired it with a good Burgundy wine. In Paris, always specify how you would like your meat cooked. "A point" is medium & "saignant" is rare. We finished our dinner with the famous "Bertillon" ice cream, considered as the best ice cream in the world, so, never leave Paris without trying a bertillon ice cream, (we had the coffee ice cream w/ fresh wallnuts) what made is so special is the salted butter from Brittany.
If you are in the area of "Place des Vosges" or visiting the house of "Victor Hugo" I would highly recommend Ma Bourgone.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
